Internships, sponsored by the American Student Placement and Internships in Rehabilitation Engineering (ASPIRE) and Quality of Life Technology (QoLT) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at the University of Pittsburgh/Human Engineering Research Laboratories, with a deadline for application of March 2, will commence in May. The six-week paid internship program will be particularly appropriate for undergraduates with an interest in assistive technology and devices designed to assist people with disabilities, who are studying engineering, computer science, rehabilitation science, and other physical sciences.. Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply and can be assured of full integration into the university experience.
The ASPIRE/QoLT REU is a ten week program running May 26 through July 31, 2009. The research experience will be supplemented by workshops, lecture series, and field trips. A stipend will be provided, along with financial assistance for travel. Housing on the University of Pittsburgh's campus is available. Additional information along with a program application are available through the ASPIRE/QoLT REU pages at http://www.herlpitt.org/internships/.
