MORNING or "Crippled Dawn" (The Poetry of James Magill)

     For me, a real consequence of my disabilities is that they sometimes become overwhelming.  Provided below is a poem of mine titled MORNING (or "Crippled Dawn") that partially delineates my feelings concerning the aforementioned scenario.

MORNING (or "Crippled Dawn")

Sun rising up

Moon going down

Body slipping away;

It's just another crippled dawn

With such dues to pay. ~

    I have written a manuscript of unpublished poems titled "Reflections on the Human Condition."  Someday, and somehow, perhaps I will be able to find a publisher who might have an interest in the previously described.  I have always hoped that my poetry would be a vehicle via which I could improve my general life circumstances, and I still hold on to that dream.

I love that we are able to express ourselves in this and other ways on Getting Hired.  Being disabled doesn't mean we don't have much to give the community.  This poem is how most of us feel.  Glad for another morning but concious of the fact that we sometimes feel we are slipping away.  And the fact that we still have dues to pay.  Way to go, Jim.
