I have problems with finding a job,due to being a depressed diabetic with Aspbergers and a sleep disorder. I also have a very bad short term memory, low concentration, and have a hard time with math. I live in an area where most of the jobs are fast food and retail. I have worked a few of those jobs for a short time, but had been fired from 2 weeks to a month after getting hired. All the employers have told me that I am a hard worker, who shows up and does her best, but have to "let me go," because I don't move fast enough for their standards. I have worked with Vocational Rehabilitation and a job coach. I feel as if they haven't been much help as far as the employment part. The places I've worked at never offered me another position that might be better suited for,not even as dishwasher or other behind the scenes work. My SSD was cut off in March, after it was appealed because they considered me no longer disabled. I have appealed it and had the hearing, but I am waiting to hear somethings back from Social Security. Meanwhile, I am having a hard time paying my bills, paying a $3 copay for dr appointments and medications, and getting some of the things my kids need. I have applied for jobs that I think I might be able to handle, eventhough I feel it's a waste of time, since I don't get called back for an interview or if i do get the interview, the job goes to someone else. My boyfriend and family are tired of and aggervated with giving me money for my bills, after I've paid rent and a few other bills using child support.

Also, sometime next year my boyfriend is going to New Jersey because he got a promotion and I want to be able to to go with him and have more of an income than what I do now,if my appeal is denied.

I'm wanting to know if there are any jobs that might be good for me,something that doesn't require alot of math, and easy to do,with tasks that is easy to remember. Also I would like to know if there are any companies in North Carolina and New Jersey that would be more patient with me if they hired me.

Welcome to our community at GettingHired.com

Welcome to our community for people with disabilities seeking employment.

Since then I have been on SSI and I don't like it since then. However, it help me along the way from time to time.

I am still in college focused on computer science major since then as well. However, I need more money to make by find jobs that any will do just fine. My mom pointed me to gettinghired.com and here I am to finding a job, so here I am. :)

Any help is greatly appreciated especially anyone from nearby my area. :) Thanks!

My name is Nicole Taylor and I am a 28 year old amputee, and a single mother of a beautiful blue-eyed baby girl who just turned the big "1" last month. I am very eager to find a job so that I can take care of my daughter and myself.

I had a freak accident almost 10 years ago that resulted in the amputation of my right leg. Before my accident, I was a very active person, and I am still active as much as I can be while being in a wheelchair. The reason I do not have a prosthesis is because the one I want is not covered by my insurance, and the one that is covered does not work good. I am young and deserve a quality "leg" and I won't settle for less. This is another important reason why I need a job.

The one good thing about me is the fact that I am a hard worker. I am a lot like my mother, who is a nurse in a nearby prison and works almost everyday of the week. Wow... some of the stories she brings home! I am never one who is late or doesn't like to work. I WANT to work. I WANT to provide for me and my daughter. I have great integrity and I am very reliable.

I joined Getting Hired because I hope to find something that will allow me to excel so that my daughter and I can get on the road to a better life.

Nice to meet everyone!

I recently moved from Illinois to Arizona due to my helth. I was born with Osteo Genisis Imprafecta so I have been in a chair all my life. I have worked all my life mostly in electronics doing design work and repair as well. I had my own business for 13 years doing manufacturing with over 200 workers. I was forced to close it late 90's due to helth. Last year my Dr told me that my breathing issues were getting worse due to the high humidity in Illinois and to move to a dryer location. So I left my job of 6 years at ATT/Cingular and moved to AZ and the Dr was right I can breath better than I have in the last 30 years. I am getting SSDI but I want to work again. I miss it badly. I am working with this Ticket to work program from the SSDI group but not a lot of luck. I have been trying to just get some part time work till I can get a full time job but I am not even able to find that. I have tried all the channels Walmart Kmart Sears Target you name it. My Agent told me to try this Community and see if there is any ideas here. So does any one out there have any thoughts or ideas. I know I am not alone in this and the job market stinks.

Always follow-up after applying!

It is important, especially in times like this, that you take all the steps that

is to have a complete profile posted. And please don’t forget that after you

While a beneficiary is in the program, he or she will not be subject to an Annual Medical Review. I have been having trouble finding a job. Last year I took a semester off from college to try and find work. Unfortunalty, after applying to a couple of jobs at the mall, I was not lucky enough to get any calls back for any interviews. I saw this website at a office at the school I am attending and it seemed like something woth looking into. I am new here and wondering if anyone can help me out and explain what is that this site does. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
