Hi everyone, im new to this website and community and im glad i found it. I had been working for Fedex Office, for the last 4 1/2 years. During that time the store i worked for had so many problems i dont know where to start.  I had 4 bosses in my 4 years and all of them were just terrible bullies, especially my last boss. He consiistently put me down, he would say things like "im gonna write you up for stealing" when i had done no such thing !  it was just terrible, he said many many terrible things to me.  One time he took me aside and said hey Justin how is everything goin, and i was like, it goign all right its stressful right now but it will be over soon (i had to move out of my apartment to go help my mom , because her room mate had moved out, and the apartment complex was trying to take me to court, it was rediculous) and he was like "oh so everything is self inflicted huh"  what a cruel thing to say to some one!  He also sexually harassed me, and it was so awful i dont even wanna desribe what he said to me.

I tried everything to get away from my 4 managers, i tried moving to another position so i wouldnt have to deal with them, they blocked it of course, i tried transferring to another store and they said they couldnt do that. I talked to HR and told them everything i could, my manager was standing right there so i couldnt tell this HR lady everything, and the HR lady basically laughed at me.  At that store i was frequently left alone , only person on the floor for hours at a time, your supposed to have 9 people for a shift, i was forced to work a shift that consisted of just me and a assistant manager who recieved no training or support from upper management.  I couldnt take my complaints to my district manager because the district manager was my former store manager, who treated me the same way the current manager did.

In addition to daily bullying by management,  i was frequently threatened, cursed out, and belittled by totally rude , insane customers.  I have a severe learning disability in math, and i have slight cerebral paulsy on my right side, and this has made things like working a 18 hour shift where i am standing for 17 1/2 hours damn near impossible, yes thats right, that store was so bad, i worked with some team members who worked 24 hours straight. Its now 6 months later and im getting desperate, i left the company thinking i had a solid job offer from the university of phoenix, but it fell thru and i dont even know how or why. I dont have any money, bank of america says they are gonna close my bank account because its been over drawn 200 dollars for a month, and i had to go  off lexapro, my depression and anxiety medication because....wait for it, i ddint have any money. I currently live with my twin brother and my mom, but they have been very cruel to me and tell me everything was my fault and all sorts of other terrible things. I saw a therapist before i left the company, one i found indepedently, and she said i had symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Ive looked and looked and looked for a job and i dont really know what to tell employers now. I was a straight A student for some of my highschool career and i had a 3.5 GPA in college, and yet all i have been able to get is minimum wage jobs.  i never thought i would have to apply for food stamps after being railroaded out of a career.

I have no idea what to do.

Hello, Justin,

We are glad that you found us as well.  We are sorry to hear about all your troubles in your last job and hope that you will be able to find a better opportunity for employment and begin solving your financial and housing problems as well.  It sounds as though you can benefit from counseling, and I suggest that you contact your state vocational rehabilitation program and also your local independent living center, where there will be professionals who can provide advice and other kinds of assistance.  Your community's social services agency may also be able to help you find a way to get the medications you need, and perhaps to sign up for supplemental security or other assistance programs. You can try our Service Provider Search to find help in your area.

We are glad that you are eager to start over, and we wish you luck with your job search and all of the other unfortunate circumstances you are dealing with now.

Take advantage of our social network, including forums like this one, to meet other people with cp and other disabilities, to talk, and share ideas and experiences and advice.

Sincerely, BusyBee

heres an update since my last post, i followed the link to gettinghired.com's service provider, in this case, Marc Center of Mesa, i sent the person listed at the contact, several e-mails, and have yet to hear back from them, im not even gonna attempt to waste presious gas going somehwere if i dont know wether they can help me or not, my home life is still the same as the last post, i.e. miserable, i get in fights with my mom and brother just about every day, its really awful stuff. I tried getting food stamps but due to what i think is beauracrtic sloppiniess, i was denied because i ddint show up for a meeting with them i didnt know about! screw that!  I got an interview with k-mart last april, a job i applied at thru this website, but they didnt give it to me.. why? well they probly talked to my horrible boss, who promptly gave me a false, negative opinion of me so they so said oh forget it, i dont have any proof of this, but i did find out the person i had put as my contact at work for references was sick the whole week, so i have every reason to believe that is what happened, they also didnt look like they had any organizing skills what so ever the place was a mess whent hey interview me, I mean come on, there was a sizable hole in the floor of the store right next to the entrance! blehhh.  I have written e-mails to serveral therapists to try and see where i can get some free counseling. I think i will try this EMPACT place next, i cant wait to move out of this horrid state

Did you try applying for services with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in your area? They provide various vocational services to people with disabilities.
