I have an opportunity to do an internship with a company in my area..I am interested in it to a point because I can add the work experience to my resume and that looks better than a gap in employment, however this particular intership is non paid which means I will not be paid for the work that I do which is kinda creating a dilemma for me on whether or not I accept this intership..the other good thing about it is if I already have my foot in the door at this company and a permanet position becomes available I could possibly be offered that permaent position over having to screen and interview a bunch of candidates for the position..so there are a few pros and cons to the situation..What do you all think?

Take it!
if you take it...you can always apply for SSI (Social Security Income) and SSDA/SSDI (Social Security Disability Income).... I know SSI doesn't pay a whole lot but if you have had jobs in the past, then you should be able to get SSDA/SSDI which, I believe, pays more than SSI. Take the internship and don't miss that opportunity.
